1865-P $3 Pattern J-443 PCGS PR65 (CAC)

$30,000.00

THIS COIN IS AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE R-8 (1-3 MINTED) STRUCK IN COPPER NICKEL. How cool is that?

Struck from the same dies used to make proofs in 1872. This coin is a true pattern in every sense. The surfaces are more an MS looking than show proof mirrors. THIS IS NOT A DULL COIN. Both sides are super clean and have NO spots or discolorations. The color is a rich copper nickel. Every detail is needle sharp in strike. The eye appeal is pleasing!

PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. In 2009 a PR64 (now this coin) sold for $43,125.00. There is no doubt in our mind, PCGS and CAC that this coin is nothing less then a FULL GEM PR65. Here is a heck of a comparison, a regular gold PR65 would cost you $60,000.00+ if CAC ever beans one. Time and a growing recognition for patterns make this yet another tremendous opportunity with intense upside (in our opinion).

To find any $3 gold piece in either copper nickel or nickel is exceedingly rare. We can not stress this enough. In our opinion, this coin should be worth $100,000.00 (obviously the market currently disagrees).
