This coin was one of our favorite pieces out of the sale of the Simpson Dimes. Legend did buy it from the sale.
There is no question this “wonder” GEM sat totally undisturbed since it left the bank. The surfaces are pristine. Even using a strong glass there are zero impairments anywhere of any size. A full booming luster shows off monster color rings of original deeper reddish gold/pale green on the obverse. The centers and the reverse are an original creamy white. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and have delicate frost. The eye appeal is stunning!
PCGS 21, NGC 30, CAC 8. PCGS has graded 9 inMS66+. We can’t imagine any other piece coming even close to this coin wild eye appeal. This piece sold for $4,100.00 in our sale.
