A remarkable coin well worthy of being designated the finest known!
Most likely a very early strike. The deep, flashy mirrors are clean and highly reflective, with amazing clarity. Both sides are evenly covered by an original golden brown/creamy white color. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frosted and have pinpoint sharp strikes. The frost is between the letters, which indicates that this coin is clearly Mint State. The eye appeal is amazing!
PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. Legend Numismatics purchased this coin in a 2006 Heritage auction for $14,950.00 and it has remained in the Law and Simpson Collections until now. Like so many other high grade Barber Dimes the price guides are way off. The current Collectors Universe Value is only $12,500.00. Here you can buy a finest known 118 year old coin for LESS then most new cars! Seems cheap to us!
