10C 1894S PCGS PR64+BM
$2,550,000.00
Legend Numismatics is proud to own and offer on of the top classic rarities that exists: The Daggett 1894S 10C PCGS PR64+ BM.
Only a small planchet flake on the reverse keeps this coin from being labeled a full GEM PROOF. Overall, the quality is all there. The mirrors are actually deep, clear, and do have bold reflectivity. A beautiful mix of ORIGINAL moderate olive/green/pale blue colors all swirl all over. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is fantastic!
This is the third finest known 1894S 10C. Even though it is believed 24 were stuck, LESS then a dozen still exist.
The history of piece is as good of a story as any coin ever minted. John Daggett, superintendent of the Mint had 24 pieces specially made to hand out to visiting VIPS. A small group ended up in his daughter Hallie’s possession. Not caring much for the rarity factor and seeing an ice cream stand, the rest is history on a few of the coins. This coin was believe to be the one she actually saved.
