10C 1889S PCGS MS65

We see no reason why this magnificent GEM is not a PCGS MS65+ or even an MS66, though there’s no guarantee it would upgrade.

The surfaces are super smooth and have NO imperfections, save for one super tiny, toning covered tick. There is a very faint trace of prooflike mirrors. A rolling, strong, satiny luster shows off totally ORIGINAL shades of pale pewter/golden brown colors. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and her head is NOT flat at all. The eye appeal of this coin is fabulous! If you collect better MS Seated Dimes, this is a GEM you need to inspect or bid aggressively to add to your collection. No question this piece is full Legend quality!

PCGS 4, NGC 7, CAC 5 (we think this coin has been through more than once). The last one of these to appear in a major auction brought $5,175.00 (3/12 Heritage). We just paid $4,887.50 out of our Feb 28th Legend-Morphy Auction for this GEM (hey, we’re allowed to buy good deals too!). With PCGS having graded ONLY one coin higher this may very well be your only opportunity to acquire one of these for quite some time.
