Why aren’t these $5,000.00 coins? Think about this, you have a coin thats 149 years old. Its in nearly the same condition as it was when it left the bank (save for some acquired toning). There were only 800 minted and you know not even half survived in choice condition. It has survived the Civil War and all major historical events since then. After 20+ years of certification and millions of coins certified, there are only 50 or so examples housed in a PCGS holder – in any grade of GEM .

The coin itself is an “all there” PR65. Super deep, crystal clear, impeccably clean,and incredibly reflective mirrors are what you see every time. A moderate mix of original blue/navy/olive/rose/russet colors are swirling all over the mirrors. They are NOT drab or dull. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do appear to have some frost. The eye appeal is wonderful. PCSG 24, NGC 31.
