$10 1879CC PCGS AU53

$35,000.00

Clearly 1879 is one of the rarest $10 CC’s that were made. the mintage is a mere 1762. It also rivals any other rare date $10 Liberty.

We are pleasantly surprised how nice this coin is. Typically we have seen these severely hacked up and/or messed with. The collector who assembled the Pickering Creek Collection intelligently knew to buy the best coins he could obtain. This coin overall looks clean and has just a few scattered tiny ticks. A surprisingly bold luster shows off beautiful deep gold color. There actually is a tiny Mint made grease spot on the reverse in the word TEN. Miss Liberty and the details show only light even wear and are well struck. This is a beautiful and high end coin!

PCGS 2, NGC 4. PCSG and NGC combined have possibly graded 11 coins higher-with the finest grade being only a single MS62. The last one to sell in major auction brought $35,938.00 in 06/08 Heritage. Another sold for pretty much the same amount in 2007. Opportunity knocks loud here!
