$10 1876S PCGS AU50

There is a reason why you do not see many 76S in AU or above-they do NOT come nice! This coin clearly IS nice and is high end!

Surprisingly both sides are way above average in cleanliness. There are some teenie scattered ticks-but they are NOT numerous or are big. A very good amount of luster is clearly visible as well as light traces of semi-prooflike mirrors around the devices. The color is an ORIGINAL deeper yellow gold. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. There is NO discoloration or wear spots visible. The eye appeal is great!

ONLY 5000 were minted. PCGS 10, NGC 8, CAC 1. This is the ONLY AU CAC beaned (none higher). This date is so rare there are ONLY possibly 5 coins graded higher to date by PCGS. We do NOT think the pop of 10 is correct for AU 50. Our guess is more like 5-6 (if even). The last AU 50 PCGS (NO CAC ) 76S to sell in auction was back in 08/2011 Stacks. Earlier this year a PCGS AU53 (NON CAC) sold for $12,925.00 03/2014 Heritage. We can go on and on about how rare this date is in AU.
