Most pre 1880 $10 pieces in AU are rare. We do try and buy them when we see nice pieces.
For those of you who are purists, this coin is totally original and has that “dirty” look. Its not bad at all and the wear is not visible without a glass. Both sides are VERY clean and do emit a decent luster. There are NO major marks or discolorations/spots. The color is a moderately dirty gold. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is very pleasing.
PCGS 16, NGC 109, 4. After 20+ years of operations, PCGS has only graded 9 coins in full MS! This is not an easy date to find properly graded either.
