$10 1797 LG EAGLE PCGS AU55

Here is an interesting fact: we’ve been in the coin business OVER 35 years. During that time, we have handled just about EVERY major classic rarity and SUPERB coin that exists. This is only the second 1797 $10 we have ever handled! The last one was an NGC MS62 back in 2006. We simply can never find examples of these that haven’t been messed with or ones we like. Price has never been an issue as we have always believed in stepping up and paying for true quality!

We are pleased to offer this quality 1797 to our collecting friends. This coin has totally virgin original surfaces. Hard to believe, but we do not think this coin has EVER been dipped! There are practically NO marks visible anywhere. Unbelievably, a strong amount of the original luster still blazes. The reverse is typical to the date-and is fully prooflike and looks MS61! Both sides are a beautiful faded orange gold. There are NO discolorations or spots anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally well struck and seem to have a dusting of frost. The eye appeal is great!

If you do not like this coin, then the only type of 1797 you could ever like is a cleaned doctored coin! This GEM AU piece is the real deal! CAC would not have stickered it if there any problems or if it did not agree with the grade. Special note: to date, CAC has only stickered TWO 1797 $10’s in AU55!

PCGS 34, NGC 24, CAC 2. We are not worried about the pops-#1 we doubt that many actually are in holders, and #2 of the real number, too many have been messed with. This coin represents an incredible opportunity for any serious Early gold collector!
