$1 1893CC PCGS MS64+
$23,500.00
This coin has been off the market for many years as a VERY stubborn dealer refused to believe PCGS would not grade it MS65. We must admit, after we bought it we did send it in for regrade. Sure for us, the grade remained the same (for the dealer at some point at least he got a + when PCGS started doing that). We really do not know why PCGS did not MS65 it. If it were a common date, then ding ding-MS65.
Both sides are amazingly SUPER clean. Even with a strong glass the ticks in the fields are super tiny and are well hidden. A full booming luster shows off the super satiny texture and neat obverse colors. A pretty and great mix of totally ORIGINAL rose/violet/purple/navy/gold/olive colors swirls all over the obverse. The reverse is frosty white with a trace of a rainbow thin crescent on the right. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. Her cheek is the epitome of cleanliness. The eye appeal is fantastic (looks better in person than the image-this is NOT a dark coin).
PCGS 520, NGC 198, CAC 24. There are only 15 pieces graded MS64+ (this is probably several of them) by PCGS. Keep in mind, the next step up costs $75,000.00+ (NONE have been in auction since 2001)! An MS64+ did sell for $17,250.00 11/11 Stacks. It was white and was NOT this coin. if you are into colored Morgans, this ULTRA HIGH END GEM is what you want!
