SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON COLLECTION. Rarely will you see any dates from the 1890’s with full rainbow crescents.

The quality of this coin is also VERY high end. It is in the new Secure Plus holder and is designated a + (which means high end technically too). Both sides have super clean and satiny surfaces. Very few marks can be seen (we think this coin is just one small mark from MS65). Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and fully struck.

The toning is unlike anything we have ever seen on a 1891. Even the one that now resides in the Sunnywood/Simpson Collection is not rainbow toned. The obverse is covered by a partial crescent on the left 1/3. The colors are deep navy/violet/purple/blue/gold/green. The reverse has a crescent of neon like purple/violet/blue/pearl green/gold covering 50% of the surfaces. The colors look like what you’d see on an 80S. Color wise, this is an amazing coin.
