$1 1885CC PCGS MS66+PL

We are only fans of PL’s when they border full DMPL. This coin has 4″+ mirrors and is close to full DMPL. Only a few very tiny and widely scattered ticks are probably what held this coin  back from a MS67 PL designation. We can not stress enough, the ticks are tiny and are scattered.  The mirrors have lots of reflection and are at least 4″ deep and show good clarity too. Both sides have a sprinkle of gold scattered around. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frosted and have full strikes. Her cheek will please the pickiest buyer. The eye appeal is terrific! PCGS 47, NGC 46, CAC 11. PCGS has graded only 9 MS66+ PL’s and 2 MS67 PL’s. Note: the last time an MS67 PL appeared  in auction-1999!  The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $4,935.00.
