$1 1880O PCGS MS64 SUNNYWOOD/SIMPSON

SUNNYWOOD/SIMSPON COLLECTION. A choice rainbow toned 1880O is unheard of! Even the coin that now resides in the collection isn’t exactly rainbow colored.

The obverse has an amazing crescent of rainbow like green/violet/blue/gold that covers the lower 2/3 of the obverse. The colors are somewhat muted and so not look like what you’d see on an 81 or 82S. We grade the colors MS65.5.You do not have to imagine the colors either. The balance of the coin is a pewter silvery sort of color.

Even though it is housed on the new PCGS Secure Plus holder, we can’t understand why they did not give it a +. The color certainly does not advance the grade. Both sides are super clean and have a strong luster-for an 80O. There are practically NO ticks visible anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and do stand out. The eye appeal is totally different than any other 1880O you ever seen. Keep in mind, in MS65 these WHOLESALE for $20,000.00+ when you can find them!
