$1 1879 PCGS MS65 DMPL

Legend Numismatics has been a major player in the DMPL market for over 30 years. We were strong that the late Jack Lee singled us out to sell us his DMPL Collection in 1997. We know what DMPL’s should look like!  While we have not seen the 2 MS65+DMPL’s we will challenge this coin vs those anyway. For sure, this is one of the best 1879 DMPL’s we have ever seen in our career! Deep mirrors beam boldly from all over. At first glance, the coin looks like a proof. The mirrors have good clarity and are highly reflective. Being a full 8″+ DMPL, you know to expect a few tiny and widely scattered ticks. Nothing stands out however. The mirrors have that “watery roll” when you twirl the coin. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frosted and are fully struck. Her cheek will please any old time picky collector as it is exceedingly clean. The strong cameo contrast makes the eye appeal awesome! PCGS 8, NGC 4, CAC 2. The last PCGS CAC MS65 DMPL sold for $13,513.00 03/3016. Good luck on finding the other CAC MS65, we are pretty sure it is locked up in a major collection.
