We believe this is the second finest capped Die in GEM we have ever seen. The finest one sold for $51,750.00 in a Heritage auction last year. Keep in mind, after 20+ years of grading, there are NO MS66’s. That is powerful confirmation as to how rare these really are in GEM.
One look is all you need to confirm that an MS65 is the least you would call this piece. Both sides are fresh, VERY clean, satiny, and of course, lusterous. The thick luster also proves this coin was never dipped. Both sides are a satiny soft white. Miss Liberty and the detaisl are exceptionally struck and do have light frost. The eye appea-especially for a 79CC Capped die is remarkable!
