You’d think these would be more available-NOT! The last one we handled was in the beginning of 2011. 78CC is yet another date that has been hurt by gradeflation. This coin is real solid frosty white MS66!
As expected on a SUPERB GEM Morgan, the luster is an intense cartwheel effect. The surfaces have a few light frost breaks-but NO marks of any significance. Traces of semi-prooflike mirrors can be detected. There is a small patch of Mint grease on the reverse. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have full strikes. The eye appeal is superb!
PCGS 197, NGC 219, CAC 21. The last one to sell in major auction brought $5,750.00 1/12 Heritage. On 06/2012 a non CAC PCGS coin brought $8,050 Heritage. Opportunity knocks loud for any serious CC Collector!
