Hard to believe how rare this date and grade are. PCGS has had operations for over 25 years-and for this to be the only 8TF graded 66 CA (with one 66+) speaks volumes about its rarity. There are NO D Cameos either. The quality of this coin is “all there and then some”!
Exceedingly deep, crystal clear, super clean, and highly reflective mirrors beam from all over. At first glance you think 1880, not 1878 8TF. The mirrors do look like a freshly made sheet of glass and do also have a partial “watery” look. All the lines we see are on the holder-NOT the coin. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frosted a creamy white. The details are also pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal is outstanding!
ONLY 500 were ever minted. PCGS 1, NGC 14, CAC 2 (the 66+ is the other beaned piece-and we placed that in a major collection. If you collect Cameo Morgans, this a tremendous opportunity. Keep in mind, once this coin is sold-unless you can get a crossover, good luck finding anything better then PR 65! BR>
