No question this coin is totally original. Super smooth, crystal clear, deep, glassy, and powerfully reflective mirrors cover all of the surfaces. Only with a strong glass can you find a light line or two. Deeper shades of navy/purple/aqua blue/purple frame the peripheries on both sides. The centers are lightly toned. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and have thick creamy white frost. The eye appeal is wonderful!
ONLY 510 pieces were minted. PCGS 4, NGC 3, CAC 3. The last one of these to sell in major auction brought $16,100.00 08/11. It was the ONLY PCGS piece to sell at auction in the past 10 years! We can not stress enough how rare ANY 1877 GEM Trade Dollar is-especially if it is Cameoed!
