Want a really beautiful colored Trade Dollar Proof? Check this coin out! It is not one of those dark coins you have to tilt to see the colors.
Under a strong glass a few teenie ticks and lines are visible. The mirrors are remarkably deep, crystal clear, and have tremendous reflectivity. A neon like band of blue frames the rims and opens into electric tangerine/violet centers on the obverse. The reverse has only a pinch of blue by 6:00. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is totally beautiful!
ONLY 700 pieces were minted. Certainly not all display beautiful colors like this one. PCGS 42, NGC 48. Auction records show the last one sold was back in 03/06 B+M. That coin brought 4,888.00. If you collect colored Proofs, this is a coin you won’t want to miss. In PR65, it would cost you over $12,000.00-if you could find one!
