$1 1872CC PCGS AU55

Not typically a grade we handled, but when we first saw this coin we actually were in awe of it. The quality is SUPER HIGH END! It is one of the BEST GEM AU 72CC’s we have ever seen!

We really think this coin grades AU55.9. There are NO major problems of any size, any where. The surfaces only show some ultra light lines-that you need a really strong glass to see. There actually is some ORIGINAL luster. Both sides are a deeper totally ORIGINAL navy/olive color. Miss Liberty and the details really do NOT display any wear are are very well struck. The eye appeal is excellent!

Only 3150 were ever minted. PCGS 10, NGC 3, CAC 2 (hard to believe the only coin beaned higher is our old MS65)! Here is an amazing fact: the last 72CC PCGS AU55 to sell in auction brought $12,075.00 08/2004 ANR! An NON CAC NGC coin did sell in 2013 for $11,000.00. This is an extremely rare date in AU and higher. if you area Seated Collector or a CC Collector, this coin represents one heck of an opportunity! We doubt you’ll ever see many more offered.
