Housed in an old green tag holder. This coin has not been played with to try and obtain an upgrade.

PCGS has extra tough standards for these bigger coins. This piece clearly is a VERY high end AU58. To the naked eye, there is no rubbing on the leg or the high-points. Only under a strong glass will you even detect some light lines. Both sides emit a surprisingly strong luster and also show off traces of semi-prooflike mirrors. A light to moderate mix of pale golden brown/champagne/deep pewter colors covers the surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are pretty much fully struck. The eye appeal is great! The reverse is full MS61 quality.

Only 1376 were minted. Legend has handled the absolute finest 71CC-the Rudolph PCGS MS64, and BOTH the PCGS and NGC MS61 specimens. This is the second time we are proudly handling this piece. PCGS 2, NGC 6. PCGS has graded only 3 coins higher. This particular coin was the last 71CC PCGS AU58 to be in a major auction and it sold for $97,750.00 07/08. Do note: back in 2005, an PCGS MS61 sold for $115,000.00 in a major auction (B+M). We have not seen or heard of any other AU58 or better pieces on the market in the past 2 years-since we last sold the NGC MS61 for just over $100,000.00. This will make a welcome addition to any top collection of Seated Dollars or CC’s.
