If you know your Seated Dollars, the you know that 1868 can be nearly impossible to find in really nice PR condition. This coin is just nice, its VERY HIGH END and has what we like to call “cosmic” colors.
The mirrors are so smooth and ice like Olympic skaters could easily compete on them! There are NO lines. The clarity and reflectivity are booming. Both sides have a moderate mix of totally original “cosmic” colors of pale navy/green/purple/lavender/gold/violet. This is NOT a dull or drab coin. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and thick colorful frosting. The eye appeal is mesmerizing!
Only 600 were ever minted. PCGS 12, NGC 23, CAC 4. There are only 2 PR65+ pieces. The other sold in auction for $14,688.00 01/2014 Heritage. Our beautiful piece is fresh to the market. We know from experience, when you need one of these-good luck. They seem to the “silent” stoppers of the series in Proof.
