$1 1864 PCGS MS65

As we have said before, our biggest claim to fame is from assembling the finest ever MS Seated Dollar Collection. So when it comes to Seated Dollars, no one has seen or handled as many as we have in GEM. This piece would be more than acceptable in ANY GEM set. We are happy to own it again-having just acquired it from a collector who changed collecting direction. Great coins are always easy to buy back.

Having handled the ONLY PCGS MS66 (a true wonder coin) we know what the ultimate 1864 STD should look like. This coin is just a few teenie ticks away. It IS a VERY HIGH END coin!

Both sides are amazingly clean overall (save for a teenie tick or two). There are some light striations visible (Mint made) and just about every 1864 has them. Traces of faint semi-prooflike mirrors canbe detrected. A full booming cartwheel luster beams from both sides and shows off the untoned surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and fully struck. The eye appeal is fabulous and then some!
