$1 1856 PCGS MS64 SHARE-LEGEND

Having handled virtually ALL of the FINEST and near FINEST MS Seated Dollars we can tell how each date should come. An 1856 does NOT come looking so nice. This coin is clearly VERY choice!

We think if the toning were nicer, it would be a lock MS64+. There really are no marks or visible lines. A surprisingly strong luster (these come pretty lifeless) shows off moderate ‘old time” colors that are spread evenly on both sides. The most important fact: Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck-you do not need a glass to see everything. The eye appeal is pleasing!

1856 is probably one of the most undervalued and under appreciated dates in the series in MS63 and higher.

PCGS 3, NGC 2, CAC 3. NONE have been graded higher. One of the 3 is in our FINEST EVER MS Seated Dollar set and will not be for sale anytime soon. There are NO auction records for this date or grade.
