1942/1-D 10C Dime Mercury PCGS MS66FB (CAC)

$67,500.00

One of the FINEST KNOWN examples of the popular 20th century over-date. Scarce in all grades and a dramatic rarity in GEM and finer grades; this one is tops both in respect to both its aesthetic and technical quality.

Both sides are intensely lustrous with a bold, frosty-satiny radiance. The surfaces are totally free of any single mark or tick of any kind. Aside from the faintest blush of pearly iridescence this borderline SUPERB GEM would fit into a set of all white un-toned coins and has an amazing look!

PCGS 17, NGC 4, CAC 7. PCGS has graded four graded MS66+ FB. Prior to this example selling, LRCA sold one for $73,438 in May 2019 and prior to that, one sold in the 2019 FUN auction for $72,000. The current PCGS value is $70,000. With the series not on fire, buying a rarity like this now (cheaper than the last 2 sales) seems a safe bet. This will be a great addition to any GEM Merc set or even a box of 20.
