1883 Pattern J-1714 5C PCGS PR65 (CAC)

Struck in Nickel. This is a low R-6 (which means 14-31 were possibly minted). Do not let that fool you, these are NOT coins you see every day! This coin is also VERY high end in quality.

We wish regular 1883 5C could have the killer mirrors like this coin does. Both sides blast crystal clear, clean, and highly reflective mirrors. There is a VERY faint hint of lilac color in the center of the reverse. you could shave with these mirrors! Miss Liberty and all of the details are razor sharp ins trike and are loaded with crisp white frost. The eye appeal is jaw dropping!

PCGS 5, NGC 0, CAC 1. PCGS has graded only 2 coins higher (neither are CAC). There are no published values. 1883 5C was a huge year with all kinds of designs tested and two different regular designs put into circulation. This will be a tremendous addition to any Pattern or Proof Nickel set.
