We LOVE GEM totally ORIGINAL MS Liberty Nickels. So many have suffered from gradeflation, that when you find a nice one, you cherish it and pay the premium to own it. There are NOT that many TRUE GEM 1885’s that exist!
This coin is a friggen MONSTER 10X over. We absolutely consider it to be one of the very best MS65+’s graded. It is a real borderline MS66.
A highly impressive full booming luster makes the coin visible from yards away. This coin has totally ORIGINAL surfaces and has never been dipped. Both sides are a pretty nickel/pale gold/pale golden brown color. A small thin die crack runs down the face. There are NO visible problems or spots. Miss Liberty and the details are crazy fully struck (they almost looked 3-D) and have gentle frost. You do not need a glass to see the full corn stalks on the reverse. The eye appeal is jaw dropping!
PCGS 49, NGC 25, CAC 12. This coin has been OFF the market since 2014. for The last PCGS/CAC to sell in a major public auction brought $7,050.00 01/2016 Heritage. We do not recall seeing any 1885 appear on the market that was even close to this coin-including MS66’s. Opportunity knocks loud here-especially if your looking for a Key date MS Liberty 5C!
