This coin is another SUPER HIGH END GEM for the recently disbanded Oliver Jung Collection or “The Type set” as it was known. His collection was the all time #1 Type set. This coin was more then deserving of inclusion!
Sensational surfaces are fully prooflike in nature. The mirrors are extremely clean and have killer clarity. You do not have to image this coin is prooflike. A fantastic ring of totally original blue/pale violet/gold wraps around the obverse peripheries. The centers are white. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and are thickly frosted. There is strong contrast. The eye appeal is totally beautiful!
PCGS 27, NGC 42, CAC 14. We had to go all the way back to 08/2014 to find another 1879 MS67 CAC that sold. Back then a coin fetched $3,525.00. Still, 5 long years an no appearances? That is not a common coin!
