1C 1796 REV 97 PCGS MS64BN S-119 BLUE LAKE

$32,000.00

This is a very choice and pleasing near GEM. The originality is unquestionable. This coin has been purchased by the Blue Lake Collector in 2001. Excellent surfaces do not appear treated or messed with in any way. There is no porosity. Overall, the surface are clean and smooth. There is a pretty neat (Mint made) die crack on the left obverse. The luster is typical for the date. Both sides are a moderate chocolate brown with highlights of the most faded hints of red. There is some light “dirt” on the high points-not black patches. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The eye appeal is very pleasing! PCGS 4, NGC 1, CAC 3. PCGS has graded only 1 coin higher-and MS65. The last one to sell in major auction brought $28,200.00  04/2013. One brought $32,200.00 in 2012. Obviously, it is powerful statement as to the extreme rarity of his coin if NONE have been sold at auction since 2013 with all the big copper sales that have happened in the past year. Opportunity knocks loud here!
