$1 1881-S PCGS MS66 CAC NORTHERN LIGHTS “SUNSET”

We had to buy one! We didn’t even try for the crazy ones. Here is the auction catalog description: The coin listed before this was SUNRISE, the color on this coin are SUNSET. Yet another phenomenal toner from the Northern Lights Collection. About 3/4 of the upper obverse has a cascading deep rainbow water fall of colors. It reminds us of a multi-hued sunset. Totally original shades of violet/magenta/gold/blue/green gush like a sunset and blend into pale baby blue/tan colors on the obverse. Even the reverse has a thin crescent of blue/gold. We rank the colors a full 9 (actually a borderline 9+) on our 1-10 color scale (10 is the best). Of course, the surfaces are loaded with luster and are slightly semi-prooflike. This is yet another toner that will make your jaws drop and lock wide open! We paid $1,410.00. Our “flip” price is really fair. We just had to say we bought one! Plus this probably will be your last shot at any Northern Lights coins as they went into VERY strong hands. This coin was lot 257 and was named “Sunset”.
