$20 1922 PCGS MS65+

$12,750.00

This date is the poster child for gradeflation.  So to find one this outstanding and super high end is more then finding a needle in a hay stack. Outstanding surface have nothing more then a light scattered frost break/SMALL tick or two. Even using a strong glass all you see is the satiny smoothness of the surfaces-there are NO major problems. The luster is really strong. Both sides have a stunning two tone totally original mix of even gold/warm pinkish/orange gold that blazes from the centers. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are well struck. The eye appeal is tremendous! PCGS 1484, NGC 515, CAC 27. PCGS has graded 23 in MS65+. We doubt if more then a dozen (if even) are sticker’d by CAC). The last one to sell in auction brought $12,925.00 04/17. That was not a fluke price, in 2014 one brought $11,162.00. The last REGULAR  (no +) PCGS MS65  sold for $7,637.00 11/2016.  An MS66 (only 2 CAC’d) would cost you at least $40,000.00. We can not stress enough how difficult it is to find a REAL properly graded 1922 in GEM. Someone must have smashed a big group though for some many to be so poor looking. The coin offered here is a real colorful wow piece!
