$2.5 1845O PCGS AU58 CAC

Legend Numismatics is proud to own and offer what we know is one of the FINEST 1845O $2.5 that exist. PCGS Has graded only two better after 30+ years of operations.We had tried to buy this coin years ago-and we lost track of it. When it re-appeared we were determined not to miss it again. It deserves a good permanent home! First, keep in mind, 1845O $2.5 do NOT come nice at all. This coin is an exception. The surfaces are immaculate and offer a smooth texture. To the right of the neck on the obverse there is a long imbedded line from long ago and is NOT visible to the naked eye. It looks Mint made though. A surprising glowing luster illuminates both sides. The color is a vivid yellow gold. There are zero spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck-however there is “as struck” weakness on the eagles legs. The wear is extremely light and is not visible to the naked eye. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 3, NGC 10, CAC 5 (NO beans higher). PCGS has graded one MS61 and one MS64 and that is it. NGC only has one MS60 higher. No one will argue the extreme rarity of this date in choice AU. The last one to sell in auction was back in 2000-16 long years ago! Even an NGC has not sold since 2010. More proof as to the extreme rarity. The price guides are totally wrong about this coin because its so rare. We know once this coin is sold, good luck finding any other-especially PCGS CAC.
