J -73 ORG 1838 PCGS PR65

We have not purchased an early pattern in a VERY long time. This Gobrecht piece was well worth the wait. It is an R-5 (31-75) possibly minted. This is a silver Half Pattern.

The 2 regular PR 1838 halves don’t have mirrors anywhere near as deep as this coin. The mirrors also have superb clarity, cleanliness, and outstanding reflectiveness. There are several interesting die cracks to see as well. Both sides are evenly bathed in a pretty mix of totally original blue/pale purple/deep champagne colors. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have great sharp strikes. The eye appeal is fantastic!

PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. Hers a great stat: this coin last sold in 1994 for $11,550.00. The new owner is definitely buying this great rarity on a dip in price! Opportunity knock so loud here!
