A 12D is like a poor step child: its over looked pretty much all the time. When we saw this coin were impressed. Its as original, high end, and “GEMMY” as they come.
Virtually flawless surfaces are smooth. You can use a really strong glass and look all over and find NO problems. A moderate luster (more typical for a 12D) shows off original deep nickel/gold/champagne colors. There are a few TINY toning dots. Save for the corn on the reverse, this coin is exceptionally well struck. The eye appeal is great!
PCGS 164, NGC 98, CAC 29. PCGS has only graded 8 coins MS65+. The last 12D to sell in auction was a NON CAC. That brought $1,762.00 08/2015. The last PCGS MS65+ CAC to sell brought the same amount 09/2014. The point: these are hard to come by in MS65 or 65+ with a CAC bean!
