Hard to believe there has not been a 1916 Walker PCGS MS67 sold at auction since 1998! This coin (and the recent ANA Sale coin) were both worth the wait! You can not top this coins magnificent “all there” quality.
Superb surfaces are highlighted by a satiny smooth texture. Even when using a strong glass there are no real problems to find any where. The dreaded right field has a tiny line that can only be seen by a strong glass. A full booming luster shows off original satiny white color. The reverse has some faint hints of gold by the rims. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have crisp sharp strikes. The eye appeal is like the coin-SUPERB!
PCGS 5, NGC 12, CAC 4. The ANA coin (which had gold toning) sold for $35,250.00. This coin is 100% comparable-but untoned.
If you are building a top Walker Set, First year of Type, or Type set in general, this coin will be a star! It has been off the market w/the same collector since we placed it back in 2011. The Dakota Collection was a huge collection of over 10,000 MS65 and higher Walkers!
