We unhesitatingly call this coin a GEM AU. We can not stress enough how difficult it is to find unmolested really nice coins like this. You will NOT be disappointed here!
To start, the surfaces are immaculate. Even using a strong glass you will not see any lines or hits. There are some VERY faint adjustment marks-again you can only see them with a strong glass. Overall, the surfaces do look sleek. They also have a very strong luster. Both sides are covered by a light to moderate original mix of pale purple/champagne/pale gold colors. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck. The wear is light and is not dark in color. The eye appeal is excellent!
PCGS 9, NGC 4, CAC 2. Over the past decade very few PCGS coins (let alone PCGS CAC) have been sold at auction. With only 2 beaned, you not going to have many chances to acquire a lovely 1803 like this!
