Awesome natural satiny toning forms a ring around the peripheries.
Very high end quality. Just a few tiny ticks from MS65. The surfaces do appear satiny and smooth. A thick luster is full and unbroken. A superb original pale greenish gold ring of color frames the lighter pale orange gold centers. There are no spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have crisp full strikes. The eye appeal is jaw dropping!
PCGS 17, NGC 27, CAC 4. PCGS has possibly graded 2 coins MS64+ with only ONE MS65 being higher. AN NGC CAC piece sold in auction for $7,931.00 11/2014 Heritage. If the lone MS65 were CAC and for sale, it probably would command $20,000.00++ easy. This will probably be the best 1881 for sale for a long time!
