PCGS is more strict than any one we have ever seen when it comes to calling a coin RED. In the old “raw” days, this coin would have been called a GEM RED piece.
Outstanding surfaces are clearly virgin. Even if you use a strong glass and look for a long time you won’t find any problems of any significance. A decent luster shows off very light toning that evenly covers both sides. There is no question the surfaces beneath are GEM MINT RED. This coin is spot free. Every detail is fully struck. The eye appeal is fabulous!
PCGS 4, NGC 9, CAC 5. This date and grade are so rare, the last one to sell in auction-was back in 2005! TEN YEARS AGO! The coin offered here is totally fresh to the market. It is also a picky buyers delight! NOTE: Because these are so rare, all printed numbers for these are WRONG!
