No question this coin is the real as far as grade and extreme rarity. The surfaces do have some light contact marks scattered around-but NONE are serious. A full booming luster couples with semi-prooflike mirrors all over to give this coin strong flash. Both sides are an even original gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. This coin clearly has never been missed with. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck. The wear is faint. The eye appeal is actually great!
ONLY 687 pieces were ever minted. PCGS 2, NGC 5, CAC 1. NOTE: the ONLY coin graded higher by PCGS: the MS60 that resides in the Simpson collection. If you are a rare date gold hound or are building a $10 Liberty set, its unquestionable once this piece leaves the market, your not going to see anything remotely similar for years. The ONLY date rarer-is the impossible 1875 (100 minted).
