We will call this piece 55% GEM ORIGINAL MINT RED. The other 45% is light faded brown.

You can tell that in 1909 this coin left the bank and sat undisturbed for many years after. To the naked eye the surfaces are immaculate. With a strong glass all you can find are two teenie flecks-NO problems. A full booming luster shows off the original colors and the fact Lincoln and all of the details are so sharply struck. The eye appeal is super nice!

PCGS 36, NGC 48, CAC 10. The last one to sell in auction brought $5,288.00 02/2014 Heritage. It should be noted an MS66RD PCGS CAC just sold for $15,862.00 at the heritage FUN Sale. That coin really wasn’t that much more red! This is a great example of one of the worlds most famous coins
