We grade this coin MS65.8+. It really is that close to full MS66!
There is no question this is an above average 1921. The surfaces overall are clean and smooth. Only a small bag mark in the dreaded right field is what keeps this GEM from a full MS66. Both sides are a crispy original white. For a 1921, the luster is way above average and really lights up the coin. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have exceptional strikes. The eye appeal is great!
PCGS 58, NGC 35, CAC 10. PCGS has graded only 3 coins MS65+. The last one to sell in auction brought $29,376.00 04/2014 Heritage. Do know no PCGS MS66 has crossed the auction block since 2002! Opportunity knocks loud here for anyone building a GEM Walker set.
