Possibly the FINEST 1858S that exists! We marvel at how it has survived 156 years in such an awesome state of preservation!
Superb surfaces have only microscopic lines and a well hidden contact mark or two. to the naked eye all you see is smooth and clean. A strong glowing luster beams from all over. Both sides are a wonderful champagne/purple/pale blue color. This is not a dull or drab coin. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpoint sharp in strike and boldly standout. We do grade the reverse MS66.9+. The eye appeal of this GEM is terrific!
PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 2 (we think this i both). This coin is ex Gardner where it sold for a super cheap $32,900.00 01/2014 Heritage. We were fully prepared to pay $35,000.00 hammer. The current Collectors Universe Value is $41,000.00. We do not understand why a 156 year possibly finest known GEM isn’t worth at least $50,000.00.
