This coin is possibly the second finest known 1864 in Mint Sate. PCGS does have one MS67 graded.
The surfaces are incredibly clean and smooth. There are traces of semi-prooflike mirrors. Only with a really strong glass can you see a single thin stray line. A full booming luster shows off the heart pounding swirling mix of totally original shades of blue/green/silver/purple colors that are spread all over. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frosted and have picture perfect strikes. The eye appeal is explosive!
Only 11000 were minted. PCGS 2, NGC 3, CAC 3 (we think this coin is 2x). This piece last sold in Gardner back in June for $17,625.00. The collectors who owned it is now doing something completely different. Don’t miss this coin again! This time, when its gone, your out of luck.
