What an outstanding example of date that typically comes dull and crusty! No question this coin has NEVER been messed with in any way.
Super smooth and almost velvety surfaces have zero impairments. A good dose of original luster still is enough to enhance the original pale golden brown w/splashes of faint blue colors that can be seen. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and overall are well struck. You do not need a glass to see the digit in the overdate. The eye appeal is super!
PCGS 5, NGC 7, CAC 3. Hard to believe PCGS has graded two higher (if sold today they would easily be $50,000.00+ if nice). The last PCGS CAC MS65 to sell in a major auction brought $32,900.00 back in 11/2012 Heritage. We certainly have not and do not expect to see many more of this date and grade ever offered in GEM. In fact, we can’t even find common dates in GEM! Opportunity knocks so loud here!
