Hard to imagine how this coin has survived its 148 year existence in such an amazing state of preservation. The surfaces have some Mint made die polishing lines, but otherwise are immaculate. An intense full BOOMING luster shows off the original undipped surfaces. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have crisp full strikes. The eye appeal is tremendous!
PCGS 2, NGC 2, CAC 2. Prior to this coin appearing, neither 1866 PCGS MS67 had been in auction since 2005! Back then one sold for $12,219.00 02/2005 heritage. We can’t get over how grossly overlooked this series has become! Even if you don’t collect GEM 3CN’s, you might want to consider this for a Type coin-the value is too good!
