Featured on the front of the color brochure prepared by PCGS for the display of the famous wildly toned Sunnywood Collection, this coin was chosen most often as the favorite in the set by collectors who visited the display. It was once dubbed “The Electric Rainbow Wonder Coin” by a group of Morgan specialists.

. We’ll start with the fact this was the Sunnywood collectors FAVORITE coin in the entire set. This spectacular coin is an exceptionally wildly beautiful and technically superb example of what would otherwise be a common date San Francisco Morgan dollar. You could certainly make an argument for MS68 with this terrific piece. We can’t find any problems, any where. The colors clearly are from a burlap bag and are totally original. Electric shades of amber/violet/pearl green/azure blue all swirl together on the obverse. The reverse has some hints of reddish gold. Not only are Miss Liberty and the details fully struck, her cheek is absolutely PERFECT! On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) , the eye appeal is an 11+++!!!!

The value of this coin is all about the color. At the Simpson Sunnywood sale in October 2014, this coin realized $21,150.00 in intense bidding. The current owner has changed direction in their collecting efforts recently. They requested we place this coin in a great home where it will reside for a long period of time.
