1C 1909 VDB PCGS PR66RB

$78,500.00

Legend Numismatics is proud to own and offer this elusive Lincoln Cent rarity. We have not handled ANY VDB Proofs in years (the last one was the former Jenks coin which was an NGC PR68RB and is now a PCGS PR67+ RB-which sold well in excess of $200,000.00). This coin being offered was more then worthy of the wait!

Gorgeous full Matte PR surfaces are problem free. The texture is undisturbed. The obverse has a bold luster while the reverse is slightly subdued as it clearly had been laying on felt for a while. In fact the obverse is 75% GEM MINT RED! The reverse is a faded GEM totally ORIGINAL red/brown/pale magenta color. There are NO spots. Lincoln and every detail are pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal as we said, is gorgeous!

PCGS 8, NGC 5, CAC 2. The last PR66RB that sold was back in 2006. Back then that coin realized $29,900.00 Heritage. Even a PR 65RB (NO CAC) sold for $31,625.00 back in 08/2011 Stacks. These numbers are extremely powerful evidence as to how rare these an PR66RB 09VDB is. If you are building a Matte PR 1C set, this coin certainly will be the star of the collection! We can not stress enough how loud opportunity knocks here.
