You will go a VERY long time before you will be offered another AU55 or any AU specimen of this date. We are pleased to have found such a nice coin to offer!
We do believe this coin is ORIGINAL. We know it has never been waxed or puttied. The surfaces do offer both traces of semi-prooflike mirrors and some luster. There are no huge hits or problems, just some teenie ticks and giggles that you need a glass to see. Both sides are a deep ORIGINAL gold/orange gold color. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck and have light frost. There are no heavy patches of wear. The eye appeal is terrific!
ONLY 3990 were minted. PCGS 8, NGC 10, CAC 2 (WOW-CAC has beaned NONE higher)! Of course NO PCGS CAC piece has ever sold in auction. The last PCGS AU58 sold way back in 2004 for $8,050.00. We did pay a premium for this piece-had too. You just do not find them unmessed with anymore.
