An amazing little jewel of coin. This turns out to be a duplicate from the Simpson Collection (soon to be the #1 all time MS Gold Dollar set). You can not find a better 1858S (Simspon has the lone MS65).
When you first see this coin, you actually think 1858, or even 1874not a 58S. The surfaces are surprisingly clean overall. Only with a strong glass can you find a few LIGHT lines. The luster is also surprisingly strong and brings out the freshness of the totally ORIGINAL yellow gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have extra sharp strikes. The eye appeal is great!
PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. ONLY PCGS has one coin finer the MS 65 in the Simpson Collection. A MS63 once sold for $19,550.00 01/2011 Heritage. We paid $45,000.00 for the MS65-back in 2008. This coin has never been in auction. When we originally bought it, the coin was fresh to the market. We are pleased to now offer this magnificent GEM for inclusion in your collection!
